StarFive was founded in 2018. It is the leader of RISC-V technology and ecosystem development in China, with a complete and silicon-proven portfolio of RISC-V CPU IP series and platform-based software and hardware full-stack chip solution.
Jinghong 7100 uses mature 28nm process technology, equips dual-core U74, shares 2MB of L2 cache, works at 1.5GHz, and supports Linux OS. The ISP independently developed by StarFive is adapted to the mainstream Camera Sensor, which can process 4K resolution images in real-time. The built-in image and video processing subsystem supports H265/H264/JPEG codec; integrates high-performance, low-power Vision DSP and NNE to help customers realize the deployment and optimization of vision applications and neural network algorithms, making thinking more intelligent and efficient. The SoC is equipped with sufficient system bus bandwidth and on-chip storage resources for dual-core U74, as well as a 64-bit LPDDR4/DDR4 storage interface with a maximum transmission rate of 3200Mbps. It completes various complex video image processing and intelligent visual calculations to meet the various real-time visual processing needs of the EDGE end.
S2C's Virtex UltraScale (VU) Prodigy Logic Systems are based on Xilinx's Virtex UltraScale XCVU440 FPGA. These market-leading Prodigy Logic Systems are shipped with a low-profile enclosure that includes all components – FPGA module, extendable power control module and power supply for maximum flexibility, durability and portability.
Modular and All-in-One design offering the highest flexibility and performance
Abundant prototyping tools (partition and debugging) support to speed up the prototype bring-up time
Easy reconfiguring or stacking to expand capability for several projects
Comprehensive portfolio of Prototype Ready Accessories for quickly build the prototype targets
S2C Prodigy platforms benefited the R&D team by allowing them to start hardware/software integration tasks well before the entire RTL codebase was complete. Due to the project complexity and the need to start early hardware and software co-verification, StarFive decided to take a step-by-step incremental approach to prototype the SoC of Jinghong 7100, and shorten the R&D process by two months.
